The recommended amount of time for toddlers is 60–90 minutes or more of physical activity per 8 hour day with opportunities for moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. Be sure to include both structured and unstructured physical activity. Physical activity can be offered in small doses of 10 minutes throughout the day. It is important to encourage participation in physical activities that are appropriate for their age, that are fun, and that offer variety. Daily outdoor time in a safe setting supervised by an adult should be offered, which is also recommended to be provided for a minimum of 60-90 minutes per day.
